A quick layover doesn’t have to be stressful
Home to one of the busiest airports in the world, Singapore is a popular stop-off point. But so many people don’t even leave the airport. With hotels like the InterContinental in town, you’d be mad not to cross the threshold and rest your head in style. That way you can continue on your journey refreshed and rejuvenated.
From the airport pickup in a private air-conditioned car, to the hotel restaurant with a steak platter to satiate even the most avid of meat eaters, the InterCon Singapore is most definitely worth a visit.
The hotel synergises old and new in its recently refurbished Singapore location. There are two wings – the older, cultural wing, and the newer, more modern wing.
The cultural side of the hotel is built upon original shophouse fronting and evokes colonial Singapore. With traditional motifs and details displayed throughout, the rooms are charming whilst still providing all of the modern conveniences. With its sleek, sophisticated feel, the modern wing has a more business-like edge. The InterContinental Singapore provides a unique experience of both old and new under one roof.
Ash and Elm Restaurant
If you like steak, beautifully cured meats, and a stylish dining ambience then definitely make time for a meal at Ash and Elm. The hotel’s high-end restaurant does not disappoint! If you love steak so much that you just can’t choose one cut, you can get the beef tasting platter where you get a variety of sumptuous steaks all on one sizeable wooden board, along with sides and sauces galore. Make sure you come with an appetite.
As well as Ash and Elm, there’s The Lobby Lounge, Victoria Bar, Chikuyotei and Man Fu Yuan. You definitely won’t be stuck for wining and dining options.
The Club InterContinental Lounge
Stay in an executive room or a suite and you’ll get full access the the Club InterContinental Lounge, which provides (free of charge) a breakfast buffet, snacks throughout the day, and come early evening they even serve an array of tasty nibbles and delicious cocktails – and yes, the Singapore Sling is one of them!
