SOUTHERN CROSS 4WD SAFARIS – BLUE MOUNTAINS, NSW

This adventurous day trip takes you to breathtaking new heights

Picture this. Escaping the hustle and bustle of Sydney, you gaze out at the vast views in front of you, stretching as far as the eye can see. Behind you, a tranquil waterfall flows into a mountain lagoon. This is just one of many incredible sights you’ll experience on your trip to the Blue Mountains with Southern Cross 4WD Safaris.

This full day, jam-packed adventure is operated by a unique tour provider that takes you off the beaten track to explore iconic and hidden spots. Southern Cross 4WD Safaris specialises in small to medium group tours in a fun and flexible setting. They offer 4WD tours, tagalong tours, and passenger accommodated tours for on- and off-road occasions. Whether you’re travelling with partners, friends, or family, the trip is tailored to suit all your needs and is based on your level of physical comfort.

The tour kicks off around 7:30am where you’ll drive for an hour to your first stop. This is followed by morning tea and coffee at the Kings Cave, as well as an interesting history lesson about the area’s best kept secrets. Chris is a super friendly tour operator who has been camping and 4WD’ing since he was a child. Bursting with fun facts and jokes, Chris passes on his passion for all things “bush” throughout the day.

The tour continues to Flat Rock Lookout featuring an absolute gem of a view. You’ll then hike down to Wentworth Falls, where you can go for a waterfall swim and take in the grand valley views. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, lunch is in the town of Leura where you can sample local cuisine, great coffee, and maybe even squeeze in a bit of shopping.

After lunch, you’ll take the roads to Katoomba, leading to the most famous spot of all: the Three Sisters. Towering over the Jamison Valley, Chris will tell you all about these incredible rock formations and how they were created in the Aboriginal dreamtime. You’ll also check out Pulpit rock lookout, Anvil rock lookout, a wind eroded cave, and have afternoon tea.

An avid storyteller and photographer, Chris goes the extra mile to ensure you get the most of the trip – so much so that you’ll feel like you’re travelling with an old friend. All in all, a perfect day.
