Riverside luxury in the heart of Bangkok…
Synonymous with style and class, you pretty much know that a stay at a Shangri-la anywhere in the the world is going to be a seamless experience.
The breakfast buffet is huge with a number of separate areas to explore over the mornings that you stay there – if you stay just one night you definitely won’t get to maximise the whole spread! There are all the usuals like an egg station, and a variety of freshly baked breads, as well as more unique offerings such as an elaborate noodle station and large bamboo steamers filled with dim sum. There’s even a pretty impressive selection of cheeses if you swing that way in the morning.
If the sun’s out, kicking back by the riverside pool complete with jet-bubble seats is a must. The pool area is spacious and has a small bar. The staff bring you bottles of water to your deckchair to complete the luxury experience. If you get n chilling by the pool get there’s a poolside ping pong table, too.
The Shangri-la is connected to the Saphan Taksin BTS skytrain station by an indoor, air conditioned walkover. If you’ve spent much time in Bangkok then you’ll know that the traffic can be a nightmare, so taking the BTS is highly recommended, especially during the busier times of day.
If you prefer not to leave the hotel, they often hosts events such as the Exotic Thai Night Market with multiple food stations set up by the river, as well as Friday Salsa Fever Night. Just check with the staff to see which events are on during your stay,
The views from many of the rooms look out over the Chao Praya River, providing you with one of Bangkok’s most scenic backdrops. Watching the boats glide through the waterway below you while seated on your comfy window couch provides a great sense of calm – an escape from the bustling city. On top of this, the beds are next-level comfy, the showers are fantastic and if there’s anything you need, the attentive staff are there to cater to your every need.
