Perched up above the Fed Square car park is Melbourne’s newest event space. And it’s perfect for summer.
The Pop Up Patch: a Secret Garden by Tommy Collins, is the new event space that’s ideal for the upcoming warmer months. This spectacular, open-air space above Federation Square has great views of city – 360-degree views of the Melbourne City skyline and Yarra River, no less. Guests can meander around the lush rooftop garden space exploring pockets of activity while sipping on champers and enjoying top-notch canapés by Tommy Collins.
Populated with wooden planters by The Little Veggie Patch Co., this leafy haven is now home to the herbs and vegetables of some of Melbourne’s top restaurants – George Calombaris has a few veggies knocking about up there. So when events are in full swing, guests are treated to a full garden party experience, only located conveniently in the heart of Melbourne.
There’s also a marquee nestled into one side of the venue, which allows for more of a formal feel for speeches and such.
Suitable for up to 250 guests standing, or 168 seated, the Pop Up Patch venue will be available for hire for a range of major events including weddings, Christmas functions, exclusive chef dinners, fashion runways and product launches.
“It’s a unique new offering for Melbourne, basically a country garden in the city. The panoramic views and natural surrounds make it a one-of-a-kind event destination,” says caterer and entrepreneur Tommy McIntosh.
