Luxury beachfront villas for those who deserve nothing but the best

When travelling overseas, it can be hard to find the perfect luxury villa. Mainly because you can’t actually walk around it before you book to see if it’s “all that”. That’s when trusted names like Miskawaan are great. You know that you’re getting the real deal with these villas because of the countless glowing reviews and a well-earned awards they’ve won, including a 2016 ‘Award of Excellence’ by Tripadvisor. They were also placed within the ‘Conde Nast Johansens’ Luxury Collection.

We visited Villa Sila for a poolside lunch to see what all the fuss was about.

The Miskawaan Residences, comprising two villas of which Villa Sila is one, are located in the picturesque setting of Koh Samui’s Mae Nam Beach. While being in a quiet, private location, you’re still only minutes away from shops and restaurants. For those after a little more nightlife, the quaint Fisherman’s Village is only a 10-minute drive away, or you can be in Chaweng in just 20-minutes. Nearby activities are also available, such as golfing, water parks, waterfalls and much more, all of which can be arranged by the Miskawaan team.

Villa Sila has seven beautifully decorated bedrooms and a further bunk/playroom for up to six children. Each room is very spacious and has a private en-suite bathroom. There’s even a gym and sauna on site.

You enter the property through giant Thai wooden doors and follow the tree-lined path past those aforementioned high-spec rooms until you arrive at the beachfront. Here you’re greeted by the expansive pool, a huge dining table, grassy areas, a barbecue, and a covered comfy corner with a couch and table, which is where we dined on this sunny Samui day.

Lunch was cooked by the in-villa private chef, which we enjoyed out by the large pool that stretches along the Mae Nam beachfront – not a bad dining spot by any means. We enjoyed pad Thai, the famous Thai flat noodle dish, which was served in a delicate egg casing with fresh prawns.

One of the best things about staying in these villas is that although it feels like your (very plush!) home away from home, you also get all of the luxury hotel benefits you could want on a holiday, such as daily maid service and your very own private Villa Manager. It’s ideal families or those looking to celebrate a special occasion.

There are also a number of daily activities on offer, from in-villa Thai boxing and in-villa yoga, to your very own beach party or dinner on the beach right outside your villa.
