Ward off the cold this winter with homemade culinary goodies.
Sometimes there’s nothing better than good homemade food. And to make sure it actually comes out reasonably decently, we’ve found this awesome company called Home Make It that has a variety of kits that take away the guesswork. The idea is that you’re provided with all the equipment you’ll need to avoid disappointment – famous last words.
Here’s a rundown of their kits to make your own salami, beer, cheese and pizza.
Choose between a variety of salami flavours including hot Italian (ahem), Hungarian and mild Italian. The kits contain everything you need to make 5 kg of salami to whatever recipe you’ve chosen. Unless you’ve already got all the equipment at home, you’ll need to grab their grinder and filler kits, too.
Salami recipe kit starts at $44
Ever dreamed of making your own home brew? These guys have a variety of kits so you can tailor it to your preference, and in four weeks you could have a beer or ale to your very own recipe. For a bit of fun, have a mate make a beer, too, and have a sort of battle of of the brews.
Beer recipe kit: $34
Make your own Camembert and blue cheese, mozzarella, or ricotta and Greek feta. Or if you can’t decide, get their premium kit, which has everything you to make all of the above cheeses. Get your Little Miss Muffet on and learn the ins about outs of curds and whey.
Cheese kit starting price: $25.90
Small Pizza Oven
Everybody loves that wood-fired pizza taste, but most don’t have the space at home to have a full-on pizza oven in their kitchen or garden. This mini pizza oven gives you a similar effect to a wood-fired oven, but is a fraction of the size. And if you’ve got a herb garden you can take it to the next level and add some homegrown, freshly picked basil and chilli to your creations.
Small pizza oven: $195
Home Make It ships Aussie-wide, or if you’re in Victoria you can pop into either their Clayton or Reservoir store.
