Healing Hands offers authentic and traditional Thai massage
Located mere minutes from the bustling CBD, Healing Hands is a calm, relaxing haven for those looking for a revitalising and soothing day spa experience. Stepping into the salon, which is a drastically refurbished large Queenslander house, you instantly feel relaxed. The large rooms and wooden floors of the old house mesh rather well with the array of potted plants and traditional Thai decorations that accessorise the entry hall.
If you’re lucky enough to be welcomed to the salon by Kim, the manager, you’ll instantly realise that you’re going to be treated with the utmost respect. Upon arrival, you’re given a beverage of your choice – the herbal tea is highly recommended. There are a variety of treatments on offer, from traditional Thai massage and foot reflexology to facials.
You can also mix and match treatments, which ensures you receive exactly what you want. For an extravagant and relaxing treatment, try the Queen of Thailand package – a two-hour beauty experience combining the spa’s signature Royal Thai Oil Massage, a foot reflexology session and a facial treatment of your choice.
Healing Hands offers two signature Thai massages: the Traditional Thai Massage and the Royal Thai Oil Massage. Both massages aim to restore vitality and mobility to your body by administering compression to your muscles. Thai massage is based on the theory that the body contains 10 energy lines extending the length of the body, which can be massaged in order to ease tension. The oil massage incorporates traditional oils into the massage, which aids in the healing of the body.
The salon’s other famous service is the Thai Reflexology Foot Massage. Foot reflexology is the act of applying pressure to specific areas of the feet in order to bring on physical changes in the body – different parts of the feet correlating to specific parts of the body.
Overall, the salon is first rate in both its treatments and customer service.
