This is the real deal. Costing US$2.5 million to build, the five-bedroom, 7,000 square foot suite is the largest Presidential Suite in Hong Kong. Along with those five bedrooms, there’s also a living room, dining room, kitchenette, study, private gym and powder room.
The view is designed to give guests an ‘IMAX’ experience. With sweeping two-storey plate glass windows offering panoramic views of Hong Kong Island’s iconic skyline, it’s debatably the best view in Hong Kong. And then there’s the private, rooftop, infinity-edge swimming pool and jacuzzi, which also overlooks Victoria Harbour and that world-famous skyline. There’s also a spacious, wrap-around, harbour-view terrace that spans an impressive 2,500 sq. feet.
Costing HK$97,000 (approximately US$12,468) plus 10% service charge a night, guests are treated to 24-hour butler service and roundtrip airport limo service – for which they have a choice of a Phantom VI Rolls Royce, Bentley or Mercedes limousine. The Presidential Suite attracts media moguls, celebrities (who have included Brad and Angelina), foreign dignitaries, diplomats and international business leaders. One such high-profile guest, who cannot be named, stayed in the suite for almost two years!
The opulent master bedroom has a 37″ LCD TV and Bose home entertainment system that electronically slides out of the cabinetry at the foot of the bed with the touch of a button. There’s also a walk-in closet and changing area. Look up and you’ll see leather ceilings, while the feature walls comprise unique thatch-patterned acrylic panels. The cabinets throughout the bedroom and walk-in closed are made from walnut.
The large marble bathroom doesn’t disappoint, either, with a rain forest shower for two, dry sauna, steam room and whirlpool jacuzzi that looks over Victoria Harbour – although there’s also a TV above the jacuzzi should you tire of the spectacular view. The toilet itself is pretty fancy, too: it’s a technologically advanced product from the designer TOTO, which has a remote control to activate front and back wash, cool and warm drying, and many more features that make your toilet trip that little bit more exciting. And of course the hotel’s complimentary toiletries have to match the high standards set by the rest of the suite, so guests are provided with CHANEL luxury products: Coco for the ladies and Allure Homme for the men.
Sometimes you just need to get a few hours of work done. And that’s when the Presidential Suite’s state-of-the-art office comes in handy. There’s a custom-designed walnut desk, 15″ TV and desk accessories by Mont Blanc all set against a collection of nine illuminated glass dragon sculptures.
